Hi Everybody. . . this is my second layout for this year! I'm rather proud of this one because I actually came up with my own layout. Does the page look too simple? It looked fine in person but when I look at the picture, it looks sort of "plain". I don't know. . .I guess I'm accustomed to seeing all those layouts with lots of embellishments, sentiments, words, and stuff. Should I add like a little saying or verse somewhere or perhaps more stickers? Your honest opinion is appreciated.
Anyway. . .this picture is of my daughter when she was 5 years old. This picture was taken during Christmas and I took it at a courtyard where I worked. Considering I'm an amateur photographer and it was taken with a 35mm not a digital. I think the picture came out really well.
I scanned the photo and enlarged it on my computer. I then changed the color of the photo to "sepia". I wanted to create a "vintage" or "softer" look to the layout. This is one my favorite pictures of my daugther. I like a lot of pictures but I think this one looks natural. . .she's posing but not really posing. . .if you know what I mean.

Wonderful layout, great colour combo and a lovely photo
ReplyDeleteSO not simple!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely page, mind you, it certainly helps that your daughter is so pretty lol!
Well done you!
I like your page a lot and sometime more is too much :) I find it perfect as it is :)
ReplyDeleteThis page is beautiful as is Maria, I wouldn't change a thing. Your daughter is beautiful! Sometimes I like a lot of stickers (it really depends on the what the page is about) if its a fun or funny page I like to add more stickers. Other times I like a nice soft simple page, it's all about what you see & how you feel about that layout, at least thats what I think. You have just the right touch for this photo. HTH.
ReplyDeleteI think it's just beautiful but hey !!! if YOU find it beautiful then it's perfect and no matter what others think of it. :)
ReplyDeleteI think your layout is gorgeous, but if you do want to add something, check out this video from Paperclipping:

She talks about visual triangles using color or embellies. It might help figure it out, I dunno, worth a shot.
And thanks for your sweet words about Sheila, Maria. And, I cracked up over Hillary being scary to you. I just don't see it myself. Hey, just watched your trifold video - a star is born! Very nice! Have a great weekend, friend. {xoxo}

Great page maria
ReplyDeleteit all depends what style you want to be simple or full of embelishment
I think there is not rule for this.
You r layout is divine (amazing curved sentiment!) and that pic is the sweetest. Love your colour choices and the little tag on the flower too, :0) Mel
ReplyDeleteMaria, your page is adorable. If you wanted to add one thing how about a stamped large swirl up in the upper right hand corner? That would complete the visual triangle a previous poster talked about.
