Daily Special - Featured Stamp 1

This is the Featured Stamp for this week's daily special. This stamp is by PSX #K-015. I chose this stamp because of the large image and it was a great stamp to use as an instruction on the use of Radiant Pearl which will be provided on my next blog.

PSX has a following. I believe in the past they used to sell their stamps through a catalog similar to Stampin' Up and many of the stamps are now retired therefore a collector's piece I suppose.

I don't particularly like PSX stamps but there are a few that I do have that I do like and this is one of them.

The "congratulations" sentiment is a stamp by Hero Hearts which came in a set.

Read my next blog on the instructions on Radiant Pearls using this stamp.

Subscription to my Stampin' Up Blog

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that if you subscribe to this blog, blog updates for my Stampin' Up Inspirations blog is a separate subscription. My Stampin' Up blog is for cards and projects made with Stampin' Up products. Card Inspired is for anything else other than Stampin' Up. I may from time to time post pictures of cards created with Stampin' Up products but it won't occur on a regular basis. I need to keep them separate because I'm a Stampin Up demonstrator and I need to keep my Stampin' Up blog focused on their products.

If you are interested in Stampin Up and want updates for Stampin' Up products also. . .visit my Stampin Up blog site http://stampinupinspirations.blogspot.com/ or click at the top of this blog site under the link "Stampin Up Inspirations" and subscribe as you did with this blog.

I try to do different projects on each site to avoid redundancy on each blog site. Tutorials, projects, and other stamping information may be on one site and may not be present on the other and vice versa.

I just don't want you to miss out on any tutorials on the Stampin' Up blog site that may not be present on this blog.

Until later. . .

Friday's Tag Time 1

It's tag time! Ahhh, I actually posted a daily special on the day it suppose to be posted. I was free today to make these tags! Woohoo! Tags are great because they can be used for various purposes such as gift tags (obviously), embellishment to your cards, scrapbook pieces, or even as a book mark. . .yes, book mark. . .book marks don't have to be the traditional length. Even the small tags work just as well as the regular size book marks.

Tags come in various shapes and sizes. Next week I'll make a few using different shapes. Again, if you email me with your creation, I'll add your samples to this post. Enjoy!!

The following tag is a pocket tag. As you can see in the picture, you can insert a note into the tag pocket

This tag is a fairly large tag - 2 1/2 x 5". The background was made with scrapbook paper and the flowers are prima flowers attached with brads.

Creating tags for Valentines is a great way to say "I love you". The smaller tag is 1 3/4 x 3".

Thursday's Fun with Words 1

This was suppose have been Thursday's daily post but better late than never. Thursday's theme is "Fun with Words" meaning creating a card or project using words or alphabets only. Here is this week's "Fun With Words" submission. Try it out. . .it's a great way to use your sentiment or alphabet stamps that you may not have an opportunity to use all the time.

Great Buy - Ribbons

Ribbons Ribbons!. I found this set of ribbons at Costco. It's wonderful! There's 40 ribbons at 4 yards each for a total of 480 ft. The cost of this set is $20.00. Wow, that's cheap for the amount of ribbon and the quality. Most of them are are satin or have a fabric feel to them. It's a great textural contrast to paper.

I believe ribbons can make a "blah" card, into a "wow" card by just adding this simple element.

I love ribbons. Whenever Joann or Micheal have them on sale for a $1.00. . .I buy at least 20 of them. I have so many ribbons, they're coming out of my ears. I have a bad habit of hoarding them. As many as I have, I am very conservative on the amount I use on a card. I don't like to waste them and I don't wrap them around the card. To avoid waste, I cut just the right amount and tape both ends to the back rather than wrapping it around.

Anyway, check it out when you stop by at Costco.

Sometimes Brands Don't Count

Yes, sometimes the brand of stamps that you stamp with don't matter as long as the image is pretty, why not?

The floral image is a stamp by StampCraft and the sentiment "cherish" was an unmounted stamp that I mounted on a block myself. I don't even know who makes it.

Short Instructions

I stamped the floral image on glossy cardstock then colored in with pastels by rubbing it using a q-tip. I colored the little flowers with markers. I matted the image then mounted it on to the background using foam tape.

The tab to the left was created with Stampin' Up "Word Window Punch" and I added a brad to embellish it.

The background is scrapbook paper by DCWV. I buy the stack value packs that are usually on sale at Joann. It's more cost effective to buy them in bulk.

I stamped the "cherish" with Stampin' Up' s Eggplant envy, punched it with an oval punch, mat it on an eggplant colored cardstock, then cut it out with scallop scissors.

I punched two holes to the sides of the sentiment and looped a ribbon through.
Here is another card using the same floral stamp.

My Craft Room

This is my favorite place to be. My craft room.

I've transitioned from the garage, to the dining room table, back to the garage and now my own bonafide craft room. I love my craft room but here is what I found to be interesting. Since acquiring my craft after moving into a new house. . .I don't find myself as "free" as I was when I was rubber stamping in the garage. I'm a lot neater now and I think that's the problem.

As much as I love my craft room, I found that in the garage I didn't care if I dropped scraps on the floor, embossing powder everywhere. . .the typical mess that occurs when creating something. For this reason, I could concentrate on my craft as opposed to worrying about what will fall on the carpet. I do have plastic mats on the carpet but I still worry that I'll drop something that will stain it.

My closet is really crazy with stuff! I don't even have the time to use everything I have. I've collected so many things. I love sales and I'll grab everything and anything that's on sale. I had a bad habit of using every Joann's coupon I received whether I needed to buy something or not. My New Year resolution is to buy only when I need something - not because it's on sale.
Until later. . .
