I made two Post-it Note Covers and posted them on my other blog site Stampin Inspirations and for those of you who don't know about that site or don't subscribe to it, I wanted to share it on this blog site. I had so much fun making them and if I can clean up my space today, I'll do a tutorial on the covers!

Just two cards I made using colored pencils again. I don't use pencils often because it's a bit more time consuming than using watercolors or pastels. The benefit of using pencils is when coloring detailed images, the result is a cleaner and more controlled application of the medium. Watercolor and pastels don't allow the same control when coloring. The disadvantage is that it does take much longer to color a larger image when using pencils. When I have the patience, I like to use pencils.
I was going to type out the details of these cards but this is an indication of how unorganized I am. I made these cards last night and now I don't know where I put the stamp so I can't tell you who makes this cute stamp. Shucks.
I'll write the detail when I find the stamp. There's no particular technique with these cards - just coloring with pencils.
The paper daisies were made by Making memories, the scrapbook paper by DCWV, cardstock by Stampin Up, ribbons by American Craft Elements and edge shaper by Kraft Edgers.
I went to Michaels yesterday and bought a cheapy set of colored pencils because well, they were cheap. Surprisingly, they colored my images fairly well. I mean it's not the best but for the price of $12.99 for 24 colors, well. . .it was way better than I thought they would be.
I went to every arts and craft store to buy Gamsol and not one store has it. Can you believe it? I asked my husband to buy it online and it should arrive in a few days. I will do a tutorial on Gamsol and Prisma color pencils. I know there's a bunch of tutorials on several blogs regarding Gamsol and Prismacolor. I'll make a few comparisons between with or without Gamsol, Prisma color or cheapy pencils, Gamsol with cheapy pencils, and comparison of different types of pencils and I'll write my review. Sometimes there's a tendency for us to follow the current trend and wind up buying expensive tools and materials without exploring alternatives. I've never used Gamsol with my colored pencils because I've always felt my coloring was okay so I've never had the need to add any other medium to improve my coloring. . .BUT, I'm curious and don't mind learning something new.
Here are two cards I made this evening. I used the cheapy colored pencils to color the Precious Moments images. I'll do a tutorial one day on how to color your images with color pencils so the images don't appear flat looking. It's all about shading and blending. I've been busy the past few days and haven't really been able to work on cards like I would like to, otherwise, I would have done a tutorial today.

I think I'll be doing a Blog Candy once a month. I'll do one for Easter next month! Stay tuned and hope you participate again! By the way I had 49 responses and considering the length of the questionnaire, I feel my first blog candy was a success! The next one won't be as involved!
My husband was surprised that I received that many responses. It's funny because I had told him that I had done a survey/questionnaire and he had, without knowing how many questions there were, said. . ."industry analyst advise that you keep your survey to 5 questions" and I said "oops, I had 20 questions" and he said "well, you may have a problem getting people to participate" and I said "I received 49 responses" (at first I thought I had 51 but there were two that were duplicate emails).
Hmmmph, so much for the industry analyst advise, huh :~)

Wow, thank y'all for filling out the survey! This was so fun!! I really enjoyed reading them and felt I had a little bit of commonality with all of you!. I'll compile the information sometime later in the afternoon and post a compilation of the responses.
It's 1:16 in the morning and I was about to head to bed. My daughter has a fund raising to attend early in the morning with her Keyclub. It's a fund raising for a student at her school who has cancer. I'm going to ask about this boy that the fund raiser is for and see if I can arrange a RAK for him. I need to talk to his parents at the fund raiser tomorrow morning.
Anyhow, because I'll be busy in the morning attending this fund raiser, I wasn't sure what time I would be back so I asked my daughter to help me to pull a name out of the bag while I took pictures at 1:00 in the morning. It's funny because she really took her job seriously. She was like "mom, you mean I'll be choosing the winner". . .
Here is the winner's response to the questionnaire.
She's been stamping for 2 years and stamps daily. . .at least that's her goal.
She loves all kinds of stamp brands and it takes her about 20 to 30 minutes to make a card.
Her favorite technique is dry embossing and shape cards and would like to learn how to use different colors and designs on her cards. She says that she is a "total ADDICT!" when it comes to stamping.
She's employed as a cashier at Wal-mart and wish she could get together with stamping buddies.
She lurks SCS but is not registered and believe or not, unlike the rest of us she is pretty good about not going overboard with buying stamps.
Her favorite TV show is CSI, Court TV (both my favorites) and the Food network. She loves Romantic comedies such as Notting Hill, Sleepless in Seattle and Ever After and she loves all kinds of music.
She doesn't have a blog site, but her favorite website is I believe SCS. Her other hobbies are cooking, photography, reading, and the outdoors.
She's not a Stampin' Up deomonstrator and loves my blog site.

Remember the old Oriental Trading Company catalogs. . .well, OTC have now gotten smart and began adding scrapbook and rubber stamping products to their catalogs. You probably know about this company but if not, well I think it's a great place to find craft items such as boxes, clipboards, mailbox, and other scrapbook and cardmaking supplies. They have tons of stuff and they are reasonably priced as well.
