Daily Special - Christmas in September

Good Morning, Friends. . . wow, I got an early start today! I woke up at 4:30. . which is early for me. I woke up early because I went to bed early for once. I typically go to bed at midnight and wake up at 6:00 but last night, I went to bed at 10:00. I think I like this schedule better. I'm not that productive too late at night so it's sort of wasted hours.

I created this card using a tag that I had created a few weeks ago. I decided to create a card with it instead. I colored the image with Prismacolor markers then applied SU Crystal Effects to the scarf and hat.

Card Details:
Stamps: JRL Design "Peter Penguin, Inkadinkado Holiday Collection, SU Lace Snowflakes
Ink: Prismacolor Markers
Paper: Provocraft Holiday Slab V, DCWV Textured Cardstock Red and Green
Accessories: Provocraft Scallop scissors, Making Memories Swirl Clips, Grosgrain Ribbon, Santa's Workbench Ribbon, JoAnns Brads, Silver Metallic Cord, Clear Stickles, SU Crystal Effects, Crafter's Tool Kit (paper piercer)

Random Card - Christmas in September

Good Sunday Everyone! Here's a card I made last night. Actually I started the previous day. . .left it unfinished, came back to it, left it again, and I think I did this process maybe 7 times. I finally finished it last night. Not that the card was complicated but when I applied the Stickles glitter, I had to wait for it to dry. Well . . .while waiting, I would do something else and forget about it.

The background was created using the Polished Stone Technique using 2 different reinkers by SU (see recipe below) and using alcohol. After it dried, I stamped snowflake images using a Inkadinkao Holiday set. Unfortunately, you can't see it in the picture. It's more prominent in person. I then applied Stickles glitter dots to the snowflake.

I also applied Stickles to the snowman and snowflake die cut but again, it's barely visible in the picture. Like I said, it's more prominent in person.

I then added brads and other elements to the card design. . .basically a bunch of layering and stuff.

Card Details:
Stamp: Inkadinkado Holiday SetInk: SU Reinkers - Bashful Blue, Bukaroo Blue, Silver Leaf Pen, Bordering Blue Paper: Glossy White Paper, Bordering Blue, DCWV scrapbook paperAccessories: SU Ticket Corner Punch, Round Label Punch, Marvy Oval Punch, Stickles Glitter, Sizzix Snow Flake die, Box of Designer Ribbon (Let It Snow), Alcohol, Crafters Tool Kit (paper piercer)
Technique: Polished Stone

Hello Everyone! I'm finally posting these lovely swap cards I received. I'm finally tackling my ever growing to do list and I'm slowly chippin' away at it. Random Cards

Good Evening Everyone! Well. . . I actually sat down and made two cards this evening. I really wish I could have more time to stamp but as much as I thought I would have more time when the kids return to school, well. . .it really isn't happening that way. BUT. . .I did find time this evening. I feel really tired today and I think I'm ready to go to bed.

You can't really tell but the image and the whole focal point were heat embossed with clear embossing powder. In person it looks "shiny" looking. I stamped the image with pigment ink and sponged the area around the image with various colored pigment inks then applied the clear embossing powder and heat embossed it. I haven't heat embossed my images for such a long time. I guess it's due to time constraints more than anything else. It's an added step but in my opinion, well worth it.

Card Details:

Stamps: Rubber Stampede Daisy Stem and Solidogo Sprig
Ink: Colorbox pigment ink
Paper: DCWV Glitter Designer Paper, SU Lavender Lace, Garden Green, Orchid Opulence, Bashful Blue
Accessories: SU Slit Punch, Sakura Souffle Gel Pen, Making Memories Eyelets, Organdy ribbon, 1" and 1 1/4" circle punch, Making Memories Prima Flowers, Stickler Glitter

Just a simple card I made. I just realized that my pierced dots are not straight. It's funny how you see things a lot clearer in picture. Thought this was a cute image for a friendship card. You can't see the sentiment but it says "Girl Friends". The ribbon actually came with the fabric sentiment tag. I just happen to come across it in my ribbon pile and thought it was perfect for my card.

Card Details:

Stamp: Inkadinkado Me and My Big Ideas Series
Ink: Prismacolor Pencils with Gamsol
Paper: Autumn Leaves Designer Paper, SU Rose Red, Green Galore
Accessories: Colorbok ribbon, Jolees Boutique flower stickers, 1" and 1 1/4" circle punch, JoAnn brad, Making Memories heart chipboard, Crafters Tool Kit (paper piercer), Fiskar "Cloud" Scissors

Happy Labor Day! TIC Day #9 - Tuesday's Inspirational Challenge Winner

Happy Labor Day Everyone!! Hope y'all are having a wonderful holiday!

I wanted to announce the winner of this week's TIC Day #9! The winner is Malieta!! Congratulations, girl. I think you've won 2nd week in a row!

Malieta was the only one who participated in this week's challenge. I guess everyone was busy this weekend.

I've decided to change things up a bit and participate in other blogger's challenges instead of creating my own challenges. Although it's been fun coming up with my own challenges, I've been wanting to try out the different challenges out there. Unfortunately, I can't do both. I don't stamp often enough to do both and lately, I've been sitting less and less in my craft room after starting on a weight-loss program. It's been taking away a chunk of my time which typically was reserved for my stamping and blogging time.

Here is a card I made today. I decided to sit hang out in my craft room for a little while and finish up a card.

Card Details:

Stamps: Inkadinkado
Ink: Prismacolor Pencils with Gamsol and Prismacolor Markers
Paper: K&Co Designer Paper, SU Green Galore, Rose Red
Accessories: 1" and 1 1/4" circle punch, Ribbon (unknown), Fiskar "Cloud" Scissors, Sakura Souffle Pen, JoAnn brads

TIC Day #9 - Tuesday's Inspirational Challenge - "It's All About Me" - Submissions

If interested in participating in this weeks TIC #9 - Tuesday's Inspirational Challenge. . .click here for the details

Here is the first submission for this week's TIC. Awww. . .Malieta always come through and participate in my challenge. She's such a sweetie.

This is Malieta's card that she made that reflects who she is. Well, based on the card, she is one elegant lady with a touch of playfulness!

Here is how Malieta describes herself:

"I put together a card that loosely symbolized bits of myself. My style is simple yet complex. I love company but like to be left alone. I'm soft but firm, and I love to laugh. I cry while watching a sad movie and am sensitive to others pain. I'm joyful, delightful and wishful. I'm constantly re-discovering myself and am very determined. I have a big heart but I do not give it easily. I'm just me.....just Risa (Malieta)!"

I'm glad to have gotten to know such a classy lady!! Thank you Malieta for participating in this week's challenge. You're awesome!!
