Punched Negative Card

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! I'm back!! I
created this card last night. It's just a simple card. A few months ago I had punched a few flowers on a designer paper and saved the negative part of the punched paper rather than throwing it away.

Well, it worked out perfectly. I was going through my scrap pile and saw this designer paper with the negative punched flowers and I thought the layout of the flowers were pretty nice so I adhered it over a designer paper with a stripe design and added brads.

So. . .it's a good idea when punching out shapes on your designer paper or cardstock, be sure to punch with some sort of nice pattern so you can use the negative side for future cards.

I'm beginning to really like making scrappy cards. It's new to me and I'm learning slowly to come up with different card designs. It's a really great way to reduce your scrap pile. It's actually faster to make "scrappy cards" than it is to create "rubber stamped" cards because all it's about is coming up with a nice layout using paper, stickers and embellishments that work well together.

Anyway. . .back to making more scrappy cards. I'll see if I'll have time to create another card!

Until later!!

Welcome back Maria! Awesome card! I myself just started saving the negative side also when I was using my heart nesties for my dd's centerpiece for the shower. I looked at the heart & thought save this it would make a nice frame for a picture or a stamp. So whenever I get to using it I will post it on my blog.

I love this card. When I made a scrapbook about last year's mother daughter banquet, I could out ruffled circles and ended up using the negative paper to put each individual person's picture in - was way cool.

THese negative efffects are fabulous looking cards and I love that they are ebing made from scrappy piles. Heaven knows Ive got plenty of scraps. I save them all, and never used them. I have 3 large plastic bins full of them. Its such a wonderful idea to just go for those piles for an entire week...you should make that a challenge! Thanks for always inspiring us.love your work.
