Altered Nestle Cocoa Box - Tutorial

Hi Everyone!! I'm back from a great trip to Disneyland and having my family from Hawaii visiting for the holidays! They were staying over at our house and they left today. We had so much fun celebrating the holidays at Disneyland. . .it was nice to have my family here with us because I haven't seen them for 3 years and having them over for the holidays was such a great ending of 2008 and the start of the New Year. Now, that they left. . .well, it's back to the business of creating and blogging!

To start off the new year, I created this box to store my clear stamps using a Nestle Cocoa Box as my template. I created a short tutorial on how I made this box. It's really easy so check it out!

Materials

Used box
Scissors
Liquid glue, Mod Podge or tacky tape
Designer paper large enough to cover the box
Computer paper (if you want to trace the box so you can use the template for future use)
Pencil
Open up the box up so that it can lay flat
If the box is big, cut the box at one of the creases so that it can fit on to a computer paper
You will end up with 2 or more pieces depending on the size of your box.
Assembly of the template will be 2 pieces rather than one piece

Trace the box on to computer paper using a pencil and cut on the score line to create your template. Again, if the box is big then you may end up with 2 or more pieces.

If you don't care to trace the box to create a template, apply glue directly on to the box and adhere to a designer paper.

Wait for the glue to dry and cut the designer paper along the edge of the box and re-assemble the box together using the creases as you guide.

If you have two pieces or more, apply glue on to the designer paper where needed to adhere the box together into one piece.

Decorate your box as desired.
With this box, I had cut out the top flaps to provide an opening at the top. This allowed me to store my clear stamps at an upright position.
If you are interested in the template, I created a template of this box:

Halloween Brownie Treat Box

Hey Everyone!! I was inspired to create a treat box after seeing all the cool treat boxes that Mel of Mel Stampz made. . .they looked so fun. I had a box of brownies and decided to create a box for them. The box size with the front and back cover is 4 1/4 x 3 1/4". I will be creating a tutorial for Stampin Club members on my Stampin Inspirations Club Site, otherwise I would post the tutorial here. I'm going to create it for their monthly kits.

Again, I'm trying to use up my fall papers, die cuts, and cardstocks that I used for previous card projects. I still have a few of them left to use up. Well, actually I still have a lot of them to use up. You're probably tired of seeing the same papers and die cuts. LOL!
I promise my next project or card will be on something else. I'll take a day off from Halloween or Fall stuff!!
Anyway, as you can see the brownie pack fits nicely into the box. I even dressed up the brownie.

Anyway, hope y'all have a fabulous Friday!!

Treasure and Explore Altered Box

Hi Everyone! Here is a "treasure box" that I created today. I basically altered a "Kraft Box" and I plan to fill it up with little treasures . ..you know, mementos such as little trinkets, post cards, letters, etc. The size of the box is 4.5 x 6.5". The box design already has a special treasure on it. The "Baby's Breath" on the ribbon and the flower came from a bouquet of flowers that my husband gave me for our anniversary this year.

To create the box, I adhered "Deja View" designer paper on to the box and the coordinating chipboards. I then added the ribbon, Prima flower, button, and Baby's Breath. That's it. . . .it took about 1/2 hour to make this altered box. Sheesh, it was faster than making a card! LOL!

Here's a close up of the Baby's Breath. The button is a wood button that I found at a garage sale. A lady was selling a large bag of these brand new, still in the package buttons in various designs and sizes. There were at least over 50 packs of buttons and she sold it to me for $3.00. Oh my gosh, it was a steal!!

She initially was going to sell it to me for $5.00 and I was standing there inspecting what was in the plastic bag. . .I guess long enough for her to think I was going to walk away so the lady suddenly said, you can have for $3.00. I was going to buy it for $5.00 but hey, considering she insisted, $3.00 sounds good to me!! I didn't even need to bargain with the lady! LOL!

This is the top of the box! Nothing much else to it. . .

Here's another close up of the top of the box. I really like how it turned out especially because I had added the Baby Breath from my pretty anniversary bouquet. It makes it special.

Hope y'all have a wonderful Friday!!

3x3 Purse Box and 3 Cards with Envie

Hi Everyone! I decided that this week I'll work on some of Mel of "Mel Stampz"projects, templates, and links that she sweetly provides for her blog readers. She also post tutorials for nearly all her creations which I KNOW takes a lot of work and effort. So, to show my appreciation, I'll work on some of her projects and the links that she list on her blog!! I'll be posting on both Card Inspired and Stampin Inspirations depending if I use primarily rubber stamps or scrappy materials. I posted this project here because I used minimal amount of stamping.

Mel listed a link of 3x3 purse/box projects so I decided to work on the first link on the list. My next project will be to work on Mel's own 3x3 purse that she kindly provided the template and tutorial.

This Stacey's 3x3 box and envie can be found directly here: Click Here Being me, I modified the project a little bit. I took the envelope template and cut the side flaps and rather than using the template for just the envelope, I created 3x3 matchbook style cards with the envelope template. I also created the matching envelopes with the same template.

This 3x3 box is actually a box template but I added a ribbon purse handle to modify it so it looks more like a purse that holds the cards and envelopes.

Card/purse details:
Stamps: SU Small Scripts, Inkadinkado
Paper: DCWV summer stack, light blue cardstock (unknown)
Ink: SU Night of Navy
Accessories: SU Word Window Punch, SU 5-Petal Flower, JoAnn Brads

Pie Box Template

Hi Everyone! I had created this pie box for my club site and decided to post it here. I included the template below. . .I'm sorry that it's not the best copy of the template but it's workable if you want to try it out. Click on the image and it will enlarge. It will look really large but when you print it, it will print appropriately on to a 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock.
I decorated the box using CTMH Life Delights Level 2 Paper Kit and added the CTMH Autumn Daisy flowers. The "thanks" sentiment is from the CTMH "For Every Occasion" stamp set. It's a fun party favor, if you want to try it out!

Tutorial - Simple Goody Bag Holder

Hi Everybody! Yesterday I promised to post a tutorial on the goody bag holder that I created for my daughter (see the previous post). Well, I finally finished it. In the middle of my taking the pictures for the tutorial, my camera ran out of batteries so I had to wait for it to recharge. Well, I got it done! Whoohoo!

This goody bag holder is like. . .way simple. I call it the 5 minutes goody bag because you can actually create this bag holder in 5 minutes. It's that simple.

I have to make 50 of these goody bags for my daughter who wanted to give the Key Club members (she's the treasurer) Valentines goody bags. I've made 35 so far. I'm going to finish up the 50 today because she'll be handing them out tomorrow.

Anyway, try out the tutorial and tell me what you think! Have a great day everyone!!

"Sorry Dear, I Don't Have the Time" Goody Bags

Hi Everyone! I finally made a scrappy project. . . you know, a "no rubber stamping" project. My daughter asked if I could make Valentines goody bags for the "Key Club" (Kids Educating Youths), a wonderful organization that she part of. The Key Club are teens that volunteer their time and weekends helping out the community. I feel the kids deserve a treat. My daughter is the Treasurer and my son, the Vice-President of the club and my daughter is planning to run for President next year. So. . .I, initially, said "okay" but when I asked her how many did she need, she said 50. "Fifty"!!!! Ummm. . .I said, "look dear, I don't have the time". . .does she think I'm a machine?? LOL!

Anyway. . .I thought about it and decided if I could come up with a fast and easy goody bag design, I believed it was possible to create 50 bags without killing me. Well, I came up with a template that takes 5 minutes to complete the whole goody bag. Honestly. . .it takes only 5 minutes. I now believe it is possible to make 50 decorated baggies and it won't take every waking hour to make all of them. I've already made 20 of them and it took me about 2 hours to make.

I'll create a tutorial for this goody bag so you can try it out. I mean, it's not a fancy baggie but kids care about the candy not the bag or box, right. I don't think they even look at the bag, they only look at what's inside the bag.

I'll try to post the tutorial today! I better get started. . .

Until later, folks!!

Daily Special - Anything But Cards - Shaped Box Tutorial

Have you ever tried to apply scrapbook paper or a lining around a round or shaped container and it would turn out lumpy and gathered all over the place? Well . . .believe me, I have and Icould not figure out how to apply it without that happening. It would turn out so ugly that I had given up trying.

Well. . .after viewing a video on a craft tool I recently bought. . .well, I've discovered THE SECRET . .I'm sure this is old stuff for you but for me, it was like "wow, that is how they do it". I tried it out and was utterly suprised by how simple the process was. I was like. . .why didn't anyone ever tell me this is how to do it! Sheesh. . .I could have saved myself a lot of wasted scrapbook paper and boxes. So. . . .to save those of you with the same problem. . .I created a tutorial for those who are as clueless as I was.

Anyway. . .the box pictured is a medium size box. . .about 7 inch in diameter. I didn't decorate it too heavily because I thought the bead things were sufficient as decoration. I didn't decorate the top as well because I wanted to be able to stack boxes.

Check out the tutorial and discover the SECRET. Ha!

Daily Special - Anything But Cards - Shaped Box

On the weekend, I went to a garage sale and I got all of these cool boxes for $5.00. I've come across a few great garage sales that sold a bunch of craft stuff at dirt cheap prices. The boxes above are medium to large boxes and bought all of the boxes this lady had. Sometimes at garage sales you need to use a bit of your imagination when looking at stuff that people consider "junk". I also bought a stack of small packing boxes. For $7.00, I got 80 small boxes - about 7 x 10". My husband was like "what are you going to do with 80 boxes?" Well . . .I don't know yet but I'll figure it out. I'm thinking of altering them and creating some sort of craft project. I'm sure they'll come in handy one day. I just need to use a bit of my imagination.

Anyway. . .here is what I did with one of the heart boxes I bought at the garage sale. I basically modge podged scrapbook paper on to the box and decorated it. I'll do a quick tutorial tomorrow on how to apply scrapbook paper on curved boxes. I'm sure most of you know how but for those who don't. . .there's a technique on attaching paper on to curved boxes (circle, hearts, etc.) so they don't appear lumpy.

Daily Special - Anything But Cards - Pocketbook Box

**UPDATE***
I made another box like this one on my Stampin Inspirations Blog Site using Stampin Up stamps to decorate the box. Check it out!

Yuck I hate how the picture came out under artificial light. It looks better in natural light but well, it's 8:40 in the evening and no sunlight in sight.

Today's Daily Special is "Anything But Cards". I haven't made a non-card project for a while now so I decided it would be a good time to do it.

This is a "Pocketbook Box" in the case you're wondering what it is. I bought a box template at Target yesterday. They had a bunch of them and they were fairly reasonably priced - $3.99 - not bad. The templates are made by Paper Bouquet and the "Pocketbook Boxes" came with two templates - one box is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 and the other is 3 1/4 x 3 1/2.

Did you know that the "frilly" bead thing was something I bought 3 years ago - again, like always because they were on sale and they were pretty. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them but it didn't matter at the time. Well. . . I finally found a project that I could actually use it for. It's a good thing despite my disorganization, I still know where most of my stuff are stored.

Anyway, below is a picture of the box template I bought. Sorry about the bad photo.

Anyway, back to creating! Maybe if I remain focused, I can finish up one more project before I go to bed.

Until later. . .

Daily Special - Anything But Cards - Boxes & Baggies 2

Here are boxes I created using the same template as the boxes I created shown on my previous post. Scroll to my previous post to view those boxes and the link to the template.

Unlike the other boxes I had created, these boxes/baggies were created using scrapbook paper rather than cardstock. I then added embellishments, punches flowers, ribbons, and tags to decorate the box.

These boxes are really fun and easy to create. From time to time, I like to create projects other than cards just to keep myself from being bored. It's fun to do something new once in a while. Create a few boxes for no reason, store them, and pull them out and give them away when you would like to thank someone or just because.

I'm feeling so much better. . .I no longer have a runny nose or tearing and I am so happy that I am almost back to normal. I'm excited to be able to make my cards and projects which I was unable to do for the past week.

Until later. . .

Daily Special - Anything But Cards - Boxes & Baggies

Today's Daily Special is "Anything but Cards". I made a few boxes or baggies using a template. Click Here for the box template.

These boxes are similar to the Valentines box that I created on my Stampin Inspirations blog site a few weeks ago. The difference is I used a template for these boxes and the ones I created on my other blog site was made from scratch.

Click here to check out those boxes.

I rubber stamped the images all over and added a sentiment and tag to top the card off. It took me about 10 - 15 minutes to create each box so it's easy to make a whole bunch of them without a problem.

The first box with the hearts was rubber stamped with Fiskar clear rubber stamps which I will be doing a product review some time today. Check back later this afternoon.

Until later. . .
