Hi Everyone!! I created a video tutorial on how to line a round or heart box using designer paper. There's a way to apply designer paper to round boxes so that they appear smooth with a nice finish. I also created a written tutorial of this project. I had created the written tutorial over a year ago. There is a slight variation to the video tutorial vs written tutorial but the same concepts apply.
I created this box for mementos and photos that I'll probably place on to my night stand. It makes for a nice bedroom decor while being functional at the same time. I covered my box using Close to My Heart designer paper "More to Adore". It's such a pretty paper especially for Valentines. To decorate the top, I added large prima flower, button, and a metal frame by Making Memories with a photo.
I don't have time to chit-chat but check out the video or written tutorial when you have the chance. It's pretty late right now and I'd like to go to bed. Hope you all have a fabulous day!!
Hi Everyone!! I just wanted to let you know that I posted a written and video tutorial on my Stampin Inspirations Blog Site. I used Stampin Up products so I posted it on that blog site. Go check it if you want to!!
Hi Everyone!! I created this CD case calendar today. It was super duper quick. I've been trying to find ways to use up my scrap designer papers and I thought this was a fabulous way to use up some of them.
The tutorial below is a tutorial I created for my Stampin Inspirations Club Site using Stampin Up materials but I wanted to create a scrappy one too. This version is a little different from the one in the video tutorial. Rather than putting all 12 months together on one panel, I separated each month and created a different panel for each month.
This is January's page. I primarily used Prima flowers to decorate it. I think I finished this page within 10 minutes. Gotta love it when it's quick. Project Details: Papers: Fiskar Cloud 9 designer paper, CTMH cardstock Accessories: Making Memories daisy brads, Prima flowers, SU Photo Corner Punch
With February, all I did was run my Sizzix die and created the hearts, stuck it on to the designer paper and added the photo corner to top left. That's it. . .again less than 10 minutes. I'm working on March right now. I can't find my "spring" stack of designer papers so I didn't work on it. Anyway. . .try out the tutorial. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!! Project Detail:
Papers: DCWV designer paper, cardboard panel backing from a scrapbook kit (hearts) Accessories: Sizzix die, JoAnn brads, SU Photo Corner Punch
Happy Labor Day, Everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I posted a video tutorial on my Stampin Inpsirations Club Site. The tutorial is on a technique called "Polished Stone with Sticker Resist". Check it out!!
Hi Everyone! Here is the tutorial on the 4x4 Mini Tri-Fold Album that I promised to create. Like yesterday's mini album, this project was inspired by Jana of 2 Worlds mini tri-fold album. I decided to create a "larger" version of the album with a few modifications. Her tutorial includes acetate while my album do not. Click here for Jana's version. I'm in the process of creating a written version of this tutorial for those who are on dial up or have slow Internet service. Gosh, are people still using dial up? Isn't it a bit archaic to have dial up these days! LOL! I've been using cable since 1996 so dial up seems a bit primitive to me!
The actual size of the album with the tags are 4 x 5". Without the tags, the album & pockets measure 4 x 4". I finally worked on a "video" tutorial. Argghh, it was painful. I haven't been creating video tutorials because my computer is running so sluggish that it can't handle super large files like videos. Luckily, today my computer behaved. Wish it would behave all the time.
Anyway, here is the album opened up to the first panel. I decided to do a bit of journaling. I, again, messed up on my journaling. I forgot to proofread it and realized that my brain was thinking faster than my typing. LOL! I decided to leave it as is because well, it's part of who I am. . .my brain is always churning where the rest of me can't keep up. Ha!
This is the album with the panels opened up and the tags inside the pockets.
Rather than using ribbons for the tags, I, again, used prima flowers. I love primas. . .I can't get enough of them!! They are sooooo pretty.
Do you see the buttons? Well, they are the buttons that Mel of Mel Stampz sent me a few weeks ago. I love the buttons that she sent me. I'm big on buttons right now and she sent me a whole bunch! Whoohoo! Thanks Mel. . .
Okay, here are the tags out of their pockets!! The tags measure 3 1/4 x 5".
The pictures on the tags are of my daughter when she and her cousin were 5 and 6 years old. Gosh, they are so cute. They used to be really close but since we've moved to California, well they've grown apart somewhat. It's a little sad.
Awww, this is my favorite photo of them together. This picture says it all! They really were that close. . . .like sisters.
This picture was taken on my daughter's first trip to Disneyland. Sadly, I couldn't experience the trip with her because I was in college and couldn't take the time off. Luckily, she had her cousin to enjoy Disneyland!!
Anyway, check out the tutorial! Tell me what you think!
Album details:
Paper: K&Co, SU Certainly Celery Accessories: Prima Inc. buttons from Mel, K&Co stickers, Basic, Basic Ribbon.

***Warning: There's music with this tutorial. Please adjust your volume on your computer or adjust the volume on the video player knob. ****
Good morning, Everyone! Here is a video tutorial on the tri-fold cards that I created on previous days. It's a very simple tri-fold card but a few of my readers requested that I create a tutorial. . .so I did.
Creating this video tutorial was so painful to create because my video program was having a bad day. It refused to cooperate. My husband said that it could be I'm low on memory so he purchased additional memory for my computer.
Here is the completed card on the video. I'm not sure I'm liking the design but like I said in the last posts, I'm not too good with putting together a "scrappy card". For some reason, putting a layout together is different from rubber stamped cards. I need a little practice.
Card Recipe:
Paper: DCWV Luxury Designer Paper Accessories: Marvy flower punch, SU Spring Flower bouquet, Making Memories daisy brads, Making Memories Definition, Grosgrain Ribbons, Alpha sticker (unkown)
This is a card I posted a few days ago but I wanted to repost it because I wanted to show another sample of the tri-fold card that is on the video tutorial.
Warning: There is music with this video. Please turn down your volume or use the video knob to adjust the volume as needed. It's a nice classical music and it goes well with the video. Click the "pause" button on the video player to read the instructions as you watch the video. Sorry for the poor lighting on the video.
Hi Everybody!! How was everyone's Christmas? Hope y'all had a great time! It was a nice Christmas for us. I actually got EVERYTHING I asked for considering I asked for only one thing! LOL! I got the 72 set Copic markers. Yay! But wait. . .my husband not only got me one set. . .he got me ALL of the sets! HOLY COW! That's nuts! I almost fainted when I opened my box. Afterwards, I was like. . .I really didn't need all of the colors but hey, I'm not complaining. I also got a flat screen TV/DVD player for my craft room, a new craft desk, a digital camcorder and a photo light box.
Anyway. . .check out the tutorial. I know the video is a bit dark but I didn't realize it was so dark until after I was done with the tutorial. Keep in mind, the tutorial is speeded up to reduce the time. Who wants to watch a long, long tutorial, right? Again sorry for the poor quality of the video. I'll brighten things up next time.
Here are the two completed mini brag book/scrapbook album that are shown on the video tutorial. It's a cute album. . .approximately 5 1/4" x 4 1/2". It's a great album to send to friends and family. Be sure to check out the tutorial and see how simple it is to make it.
This is the completed album that is shown on the video tutorial. On the video the album does not show a complete version of the album.
This is the first page of the album. This album is a horizontal view. There's a total of 6 double sided pages for a total of 12 pages. I just realized that I created the front cover with a vertical orientation. Oh well. . .that's okay.
The theme of this album is my daughter and her friends at Ala Moana beach in Hawaii. My daughther was part of a club in school that focused on technology and leadership. They had to design and create a boat using what available materials they had. They then had to race with the canoe in the water. Some canoes sank immediately.
This is a picture of my daughter. She was a paddler for the race but she fell off the canoe and they lost the race but the boat was the most sturdiest of all the canoe entries. I created a small journal to this page as you can see.
No journaling on this page. . .just a picture of my daughter and her friends. Check out the other mini album I created below.
The theme of this album is my cousin's Hawaiian wedding in Hawaii. We all dressed in Hawaiian attire because the wedding was at a Luau. It was so fun because wedding's and funerals, it seems, are the only time that all of my family get together in one place. It was really nice to see everybody.
I wanted the album to be about the pictures and the journaling. I'm new to scrapbooking so I'm not quite ready to jump into the overly busy, overly embellished albums and layouts. I prefer the simple looking albums right now. Maybe next time I'll do a busy looking album with all the chunky embellishments and such.
Try out the tutorial! Let me know if it's hard to follow. I'm thinking of creating a written version of it for those who may have problem following the video. Stay tuned.
