Daily Special - My Newbie Cards

I just realized something really weird. The very first cards I made are all dated on my picture file as June 2004. I know my first rubber stamp set was bought by my husband on Mother's Day. I've been telling people that this Mother's Day will be 4 years of rubber stamping. As I looked back through all my picture files, I now realized that this Mother's Day makes 3 years of rubber stamping. I can't believe it. I have no records of any cards made prior to June of 2004. It feels like I've been stamping for a long time . . .gosh, has time been going by that slowly?

Well I guess I need to change my profile to say I've been stamping for close to 3 years. I still can't believe it. Anyway, these cards were the VERY FIRST cards I made. I was really, really proud of them. It's HILARIOUS to now look back at my cards. The first card at the top was the first card I ever made and I still remember it very well. The small squares were the small ink pads that came with the set. I actually still have these cards. This was the beginning of a very expensive hobby. Honestly, I think I could have bought a new car with all the money I've spent to date on rubber stamping. It's scary when I think about it.

To justify it. . .I tell my husband that it's an investment and that when I get tired of rubber stamping, I'll still be able to recover at least 3/4 of the money I spent on rubber stamping by selling them on Ebay. Yeah, right!!

Anyway, despite the amateur look to the cards. . .I have a special affection for these cards. It was the start of a wonderful journey. . .rubber stamping has made the rainy days, sunny. . .the boring days, fun. . .the stressful days, relaxing. I am so thankful that I found a wonderful hobby that I am extremely passionate about and has brought me a sense of happiness that I cannot even begin to explain.

Any of you feel the same way about rubber stamping or am I do only one who feels "happy" because of rubber stamping and card making?

Aloha Maria!
I'm not sure how I discovered your blog but it's on my short list of blogs that I checkout at least once a week. I think you're very passionate about your hobby and it shows in your cards =) I too got into stamping a few years ago and it has brought the perfect balance into my life - creative therapy, is what I call it! Well, just wanted to tell you that your site totally inspires me. (oh, and I LOVE all the music you've picked!) Do you make the sketches that you post? Thanks for sharing your creative work =)
Stamp in Bliss,
Eleanor
